I walk a bit different now
Now that my heart's been found
Nothing really feels the same
I hold my head a bit higher
I life my voice a bit louder
Yeah, something inside has changed
I know this is not my home
I know I don't walk alone
No matter what comes my way
I have peace through the trouble
I have joy through the struggle
Now my hope's in a brighter day
I am a mountain mover
More than just an overcomer
Cause I've been set free
I am a gospel preacher
Heart on fire
Cause I've been redeemed
I am a believer
I am a believer
I am a believer, ooh
I am a child of the Father
An orphan no longer
No doubt about who I am
I'm in the hands of the Healer
The arms of the Savior
His grace makes me who I am
I am a believer (I am a mountain mover)
I am a believer (water walker)
I am a believer (I am a gospel preacher)
I am a believer
What a great song! It explains who you are and what you feel in being a follower of Jesus. He makes everything, and I mean everything, different. Nothing feels the same. You hold your head a bit higher as He gives you the confidence and power to do so. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline - 2 Timothy 1:7. Your voice becomes a bit louder as you begin speaking His word and His promises. Your power lies in your knowledge of Him. Your mind is renewed and your priorities are totally rearranged. Your attitude becomes one of love and compassion. Oh yes, something inside does change! Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will - Romans 12:2.
As these changes begin to occur, you start to realize the things that really matter are totally opposite of what the world thinks is important. Success, money, possessions, staying young as long as you can are things the world runs after constantly. Your top priority becomes a relationship with Jesus. This, and only this, will fill the void that is found in each one of us. You begin to see that this world really has nothing for you. It is not your home. While we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life - 2 Corinthians 5:4.
As we go through life, we will all have troubles and struggles to deal with. These may come as financial, health, sickness, aging, loss of possessions, or death of loved ones. We all will have many bad things to contend with. But once you realize God is the giver of all things, and you begin giving Him thanks, you will view the troubles and struggles in a completely different light. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging - Psalm 46:1-3. As the song states, you will have peace through the trouble and joy through the struggle. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid - John 14:27.
Now, don't misunderstand me. There are many happy moments in our lives. Most of us live lives of leisure as a child, as our parents hold all the responsibility. As we grow, we might marry and have children, then grandchildren. These are all great events that make us happy. However, all these things that make us happy on this earth are only temporary. They are all blessings that come from God. He is the center of our lives, whether we acknowledge Him or not.
When you do begin to acknowledge Him, you become a child of the Father with no doubt about this fact. You are no longer an orphan of the world. You are now held in the hands of the Healer and in the arms of the Savior. My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest - Exodus 33:14. His grace pours down upon you with such undeserving and merciful love that it transforms you into a whole new person with power to overcome anything. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you - Luke 10:19.
Seek Jesus. Become a mountain mover, a water walker, more than just an overcomer! A gospel preacher, a heart on fire, freedom singing testifier.
Because you've been redeemed and set free!
Become a believer!
