Call It Grace

Verse 1:

It's the light that pierces through you to the darkest hidden place

It knows your deepest secrets, but it never looks away

It's the gentle hand that pulls you from the judgment of the crowd

When you stand before them guilty and you've got no way out

Verse 2:

It's the breath that's breathing new life into what we thought was dead

It's the favor that takes orphans, placing crowns upon their heads

It's the hope for our tomorrows, the rock on which we stand

It's a strong and mighty fortress even hell can't stand against

Chorus 1:

Some may call it foolish and impossible

But for every heart it rescues it's a miracle

It's nothing less than scandalous, this love that took our place

Just call it what it is, call it grace

Amazing, unshaking, this is grace, this is grace

Unchanging, unfailing, this is grace, this is grace

Chorus 2:

Some may call it foolish and impossible

But for every heart it rescues it's a miracle

It's nothing less than scandalous, that Jesus took our place

Call it what it is, just call it what it is

Call it grace

The definition of 'grace' is unmerited favor. This is what God gives to us, abundantly. All we have to do is recognize and receive it for what it is. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast - Ephesians 2:8-9.

We are all sinners who are broken, unholy, and unworthy to be called a child of God. In our sinfulness we are unable to come before Him. But by His grace, we are made whole, holy, and worthy to be His.

God's grace comes to us through Jesus. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed - 1 Peter 2:24.

Jesus, who pierces through us to our darkest, hidden places. Jesus, who knows our deepest secrets, but never looks away. Jesus, who gives us courage and strength to face life's circumstances. Jesus, who died for us so that we might step out of sin and into righteousness. Jesus, who breathes new life into each of us. Jesus, who adopts us into God's family, making us His brothers and sisters. Jesus, who gives us hope for all of our tomorrows. Jesus, who is our Rock and the foundation on which we stand. Jesus, our strong and mighty fortress that not even hell can stand against. Jesus, who destroyed our greatest fear, death. Jesus, who loves us beyond all scope of our understanding with a love that you could say is shocking, unbelievable, scandalous. A love that we will never receive from anyone else while on this earth.

The chorus states that some may call it foolish and impossible. If you have people in your life who think you are foolish for being a follower of Christ, bring them before Him in prayer. Ask for their hearts to be changed. Ask for miracles. It is His will that no soul be lost. Pray His will.

God's grace to us is unshaking, unchanging, unfailing, and amazing! Oh people, this love, this grace, gives us so much POWER! Power to be able to overcome all the pain and sorrow this world can throw at us. This world, as it is, is not our home. Our time here is nothing short of a constant battle. But the battle will be won. So live your life, not from the battle, but from it's future victory. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you - 2 Chronicles 20:15, 17.

God's unmerited favor. Call it what it is.

Oh yes, call it grace.
